Our Mission

Exalting Christ. Serving People. Transforming Lives.

The mission of Fellowship Evangelistic Church is to exalt Jesus Christ, proclaim the Gospel, and allow the Holy Spirit to lead and empower every aspect of our worship, ministry, and service.

We seek to minister to the whole person—spirit, soul, and body— so that individuals and families may experience salvation, healing, restoration, spiritual growth, and transformation through Jesus Christ.

Our Heritage

The History of Fellowship Evangelistic Church

From a street ministry begun in 1960 to a continuing ministry in the heart of the community, Fellowship Evangelistic Church has remained committed to proclaiming the Gospel and serving God's people.

1960

A Ministry Is Born

In 1960, Elder Frank McRae and Elder Chester Jordan began a street ministry in Philadelphia. As souls came to Christ, Elder McRae recognized the need for a church building. On October 9, 1960, a location was secured on Ridge Avenue, laying the foundation for what would become Fellowship Evangelistic Church.

Under the leadership of Elder Frank McRae Jr. and Elder Wilbert Knight, the church was organized. Its first officers included Elder Frank McRae Jr., Pastor; Lady Ada Inez McRae, First Lady; Mother Ethel Knight, Church Mother; Brother Dixon, Treasurer; and Brother Roosevelt Johnson, Deacon.

1965

Westminster & Holly Street

At the Ridge Avenue location, many yokes were destroyed, the sick were healed, and countless souls were saved. As the ministry grew, the church relocated in 1965 to 4141 Westminster Avenue. Following Elder Knight's passing, Elder Charles Mungen was appointed Assistant Pastor. The church received its charter in 1973.

32 Years

The Little Red & White Church

For 32 years, Fellowship Evangelistic Church was affectionately known as “The Little Red and White Church on the corner of Westminster & Holly Street.” Weekly services included Tuesday night Bible study, Friday evangelistic services, and Spirit-filled Sunday worship.

“Ain’t No Ship Like The Fellowship.”

This beloved phrase was coined by First Lady Ada I. McRae. During these years, the church developed strong community bonds and played a vital role during challenging times in the African American community.

1997

A New Home on Jefferson Street

In 1997, Fellowship Evangelistic Church moved to its current location at 5219-21 Jefferson Street in Philadelphia.

Today

The Ministry Continues

Fellowship Evangelistic Church continues to stand as a place of worship, prayer, healing, deliverance, fellowship, and service. Through the years, the church has been blessed to witness many souls saved, lives changed, and families strengthened.

We remain steadfast in our mission—believing God for yokes to be broken, the bound to be set free, sick bodies to be healed, and precious souls to be saved. Through every generation, we give all glory, honor, and praise to God.
